Chris
I would start at racing the boats as they are. If in the end if we feel there isn't quality then the F20 sailors would decide on steps to equalize them. A larger main could be had for the 6.0 and or adding weight to the I20. We could decide on a single boat weigh, we would have weight all of the I20s and 6.0s. It will take sometime to get it dialed in correctly.
There are NAF20 rules being kicked around that mathematically take all 20’ boats, weight and sail area in to play. Boats that weigh more get more sail area. The 6.0NE is currently rates equal with the I20 using the formula. We don’t have any real data. It may take a whole year to get real data. We wouldn’t want to increase sail area or add weight to a boat just to find out that it is the sailors that weren’t up to speed. The only way to improve sailing a spinnaker around the buoys is to sail around the buoys. Everyone should share different techniques. I will share info as to how to work with the snuffer. I observed a few cases last year where a couple of tips would make raising and lowering the spinnaker much easier.
I will also be sailing my boat in the early spring if anyone wants to jump on.
